The Global Urban Cultural Community, Incorporated (GUCC, Inc.) is a not for profit organization in the United States developed to help promote Pan-Africanism through education. The organization was founded in Los Angeles, California in 2022 by Rev. Baba Clarence Eziokwu Washington. As a community elder, mentor, educator, and spiritual leader in the Los Angeles area for over 40 years, Rev. C.E. Adrienne Bambou Diagne
Adrienne Bambou Diagne was born in Senegal to a military father (then Mayor of Gorée Island, the Dooror of No Return) and a teacher mother. Her ancestor, Blaise Diagne, was the 1st Black Congressmember in Europe. As far as she can remember she has always been passionate about dance and theater, she took theater lessons in high school and even founded a dance troupe with friends in the 80s the Baccara Dance, at the start 6 the troupe has grown to include around thirty dancers. But she finally decided to study midwifery, which she did in Dakar and graduated Major of her promotion, to become at only 26 years old supervisor of the pediatric department of Louga hospital. But her desire to help her neighbor was not yet satisfied, in 1996 she joined Doctor Without Borders. She carried out her last mission in 2005. Now based in LA for 6 years, where she is a translator and also works for a local TV channel, she somehow returns to her first love, and takes on the role of actress for her role in "here comes the boom" , the film by Ghanaian director Gifty Adou-Darko. The film premiered Saturday in L.A. Adrienne agreed to answer AFRIKADAA's questions. AFRIKADAA - Midwife, anesthetist, polyglot, actress and above all mom you put on several hats how do you find yourselves there? Adrienne Bambou Diagne - Each activity has its place and follows a certain chronology in my life. Here in the USA many women and friends do the same (the Hockey Moms) and take care of their families, their homes and their careers as well. It's like choosing a hat according to what it wears and the circumstances, I adapt to it. But my family remains my priority, I take my daughter everywhere with me, at least as much as possible, it is to be able to raise her properly that I stopped going on a mission with Médecins sans frontières. A - You love your neighbor and the challenges of your stay with MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières) prove it. A.B.D - It's true, I like to discover, I've been curious since childhood, that can also explain this overactivity. The world, people are my passion, I always challenge myself. Without real fear, my motto is "when you want you can" with just creativity and audacity. Adrienne Bambou DIAGNE experience
